Knights Fall to Allen, Waterspouts
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts stymied the Havana Knights, 5-1, at Coconuts Park. Colin Allen, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Honolulu. Jason Rice earned the save, his 1st, for the Waterspouts. The win brings the Waterspouts to 4-7, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
The Waterspouts had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 4-1, Honolulu, with one out. Havana, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Mal Patten dug in at the plate, but on a full count curveball, he struck out.
