Tempest Win in Extras
Knoxville left fielder Matthew Uhler had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Uhler was 4 for 5 with 4 singles and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs, even as New Haven beat the Running Rebels, 7-5. Uhler was named the player of the game despite the loss. New Haven reliever Denny Eliason got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Jason Patterson was tagged with the loss. New Haven is now 45-67.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 16th inning. With two out, Nick Morris hit a first pitch slider from Jason Patterson for a 2-run single. It put New Haven in front, 7-5.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Morris told the New Haven Today.
