Bai Delivers Walk-Off Win for Mighty Cocks
|
The Little Rock Mighty Cocks did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Honolulu Waterspouts at Durex Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Erik Betances, who captured player of the game honors. Little Rock reliever Cole Fitzgerald picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Ryan Ball absorbed the loss. The Waterspouts, now 62-44, have lost 5 straight.
Bong-ok Bai found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Honolulu hurler Ryan Ball, the 20-year-old second baseman hit a walk-off run-scoring single. His 90th hit of the season put the Mighty Cocks on top, 4-3.
Honolulu manager Claribette Del Rosario said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
