Despite a fine performance by center fielder David Galindo, the Tucson Fighting Beetles suffered a 6-5 loss to the New Haven Tempest. Galindo was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. New Haven reliever Wally Woolsey picked up the win to move to 2-2. Josh Carlson suffered the loss. The Tempest now have a mark of 59-51.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the second inning. That's when second baseman Marcus Butts, who is a two-time Best Ballplayer Award winner, grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Tempest went on to win.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Butts.
