Waterspouts Rally For Late Win Over Kingfishers
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts dealt the Corpus Christi Kingfishers a 9-7 loss at Coconuts Park. Jared McLaughlin was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Honolulu reliever Chad McCloskey got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Alec Spinks was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Waterspouts at 66-47, while the Kingfishers drop to 39-74.
Honolulu took control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Chris Kriske hit a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, Waterspouts.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said McLaughlin.
