Tight Tilt Goes to Cheesepressers, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Michael Ponce pitched well enough to help the Toledo Cheesepressers beat the Knoxville Running Rebels by the score of 4-3. T.J. Street earned the save for Toledo, his 1st of the year. The first-place Cheesepressers now have a win-loss record of 75-42.
With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, catcher Bob Hauser delivered big for the Cheesepressers. Toledo was leading 1-0 when he belted a 3-run home run.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Toledo manager Matt Perrone.
