Des Moines right-hander Jason Wheeler made an effective start against the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo at The Zoo, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Des Moines has a record of 1-1.
Cesar Capestany aided the Des Moines cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
