|
Honolulu designated hitter Chris Kriske had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kriske was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Boise beat the Waterspouts, 10-8. Kriske was named the player of the game despite the loss. The first-place Waterspouts have lost 4 straight games.
Mike Griffiths delivered a big hit for the Idahosies. The veteran left fielder belted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh. The longball put Boise on top, 8-2. Overall, Griffiths was 1 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Griffiths told the Boise Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
