Victory Over Pharaohs Takes Toledo to 10-3
|
The Cheesepressers had to overcome a fine effort from Des Moines pitcher Steve Reinders to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Tractor Supply Company Park. Reinders went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Marshall Pazar got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Jason Hoose got the save, the 8th for him this season.
John Roberts, who is tied for 9th in the UL with a .600 slugging percentage, aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager John Hann.
The Pharaohs drop to 6-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2026 season.
