Bulldogs Best Waterspouts in Pitching Duel
|
The Topeka Bulldogs got a magnificent performance from pitcher Andy Richardson, who stifled the Honolulu offense en route to a 2-1 Bulldogs win at Lenscrafters 20/20 Park. The winning pitcher was Richardson, now 10-3. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. Topeka currently is in first place in the Patriot League Central Division at 80-44.
One consequential at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Joe Meyer, reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Topeka, and helped them go on to win.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Richardson.
