Butts, Tempest Humble Phantoms
The New Haven Tempest had no problem beating the Erie Phantoms, 14-1, at Flagship Field. Marcus Butts led the way. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for New Haven. Dan Hindes got the win, improving to 14-4. He worked 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. This win makes it 8 in a row for New Haven.

Butts contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New Haven in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Butts took a forkball from Tommy Uphoff and stroked the home run to right-center. His 25th home run of the season allowed the Tempest to leap in front, 2-1.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Butts said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
