Bowen Helps New Haven Cruise to 11-2 Win
|
The New Haven Tempest defeated the Little Rock Mighty Cocks, 11-2, in United League action at Hartford Courant Center, with New Haven shortstop Nick Bowen named player of the game. Tanner Zaretsky was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 6 save opportunities. The Tempest, at 86-40, have now won 4 straight.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Bowen, who is tied for 8th in the UL in hits with 158, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Tempest into the lead, 3-2.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle.
