Cheesepressers Get One-Run Win at Thunder Bay
|
The Cheesepressers grabbed a win, 3-2, at Dr. Thunderdome, overcoming a fine effort from Thunder Bay pitcher Isidro Alvarez. Alvarez went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Wilber York picked up the win, improving his season record to 11-9. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. The save went to Lorenzo Sierra, his 13th this season.
Toledo took control in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Jerry Carpio hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Cheesepressers.
"We did enough to win," said Carpio.
The Cheesepressers have now won 4 straight.
