Tallahassee catcher John Mullen had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Mullen went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, even as Toledo beat the Tyrants, 4-3. Mullen was named the player of the game despite the loss. Toledo reliever Matt Gault got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Elias Mora was tagged with the loss. The Cheesepressers bumped their record to 85-45 with this latest triumph.

Jeff Leathers aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Tallahassee manager Dylan Wooley.
