Saskatoon right-hander Tommy Uphoff made an effective start against the Honolulu Waterspouts at Labatt Blue Field, leading his team to a 4-0 win. Uphoff, now 16-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. David Edmonds was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 11 save opportunities.

The Platoon beat the Waterspouts in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Kevin Huston produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Honolulu pitcher Ryan Grosso, Huston gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.

"I like the roll we're on," said Saskatoon manager Matt Germano.

The Platoon, now 92-46, have won 5 in a row.
