Hullabaloo Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Kingfishers
|
Kalamazoo pitcher Leo Rojas did his part in helping his team beat the Corpus Christi Kingfishers, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kalamazoo reliever Lemsik Bejanian was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Bobby Alvarez took the loss. At 10-4, the Hullabaloo have played well so far.
Had Scott Griffith not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Griffith hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Hullabaloo.
"We'll savor this win," Griffith told the Kalamazoo Gazette, "then get ready for the next game."
