Des Moines Pharaohs starter Nate Taylor pitched a strong game against the Toledo Cheesepressers at Velveeta Field, leading the Pharaohs to a 7-5 win. Des Moines is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 14 games.

Des Moines took a 6-4 lead on Tim Preece's 3rd hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Preece hit in the top of the 11th, left Toledo pitcher Alvin Biter shaking his head.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Preece.
