The Eureka Goldrush went down to defeat to Keegan Kroll and his New Haven teammates. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Tempest. Jason Balentine locked down his 30th save. Their 88-47 record puts the Tempest first in the United League Atlantic Division.

Matt McManus was a key contributor to the win for the Tempest. In the top of the second with two out, the light-hitting third baseman stroked a single to center. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

McManus called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
