Balentine Gets 300th Save, Shuts Down Waterspouts 8-7
In an effort that will possibly punch his ticket to the Federal Baseball League Hall of Fame, Jason Balentine notched his 300th career save today at Coconuts Park, leading the New Haven Tempest to a 8-7 triumph over the Honolulu Waterspouts.

Known for his calm demeanor in the heat of competition, the 35-year-old Balentine was similarly collected after the game.

"To me it's just a number. I wasn't really nervous or thinking too much about it. I'm just trying to make my pitches and get hitters out," he said. The star reliever allowed 2 hits and 1 run, while working 1 innings in recording his milestone save.

Since coming into the league Balentine has piled up a 2.14 ERA with 300 saves. In 572 games, he has a 36-27 won-lost mark and has fanned 790 batters in 575.2 innings.
