Cheesepressers Cut Down Pride, 7-4
|
The Toledo Cheesepressers dealt the Savannah Pride a 7-4 loss at Haggar Pants Park. John Roberts was the star on offense. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Marshall Pazar, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 15-7. The Cheesepressers move to 88-50 with the win, while the Pride drop to 74-64.
Early in the game, shortstop Xavier Gomez had a run-scoring double for Toledo. It was his 36th double of the season and put the Cheesepressers on top, 1-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Gomez.
