Waterspouts Turn Back Tucson, 5-3
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts bested the Tucson Fighting Beetles, 5-3, at Coconuts Park. Bubba Miller was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Travis Covey got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 3 runs on 11 hits in 7 innings. Lorenzo Sierra earned the save for Honolulu, his 5th of the year.
The Waterspouts got a big at-bat from second baseman Steve Casselman. For the game, Casselman went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 15th hit of the season gave Honolulu a 5-3 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Casselman.
The Fighting Beetles drop to 7-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2017 season.
