Cheesepressers Stymie Bangor, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Cheesepressers had to overcome a fine performance from Bangor pitcher Jimmy Becker to grab a 3-1 win at Red Lobster Arena. Becker allowed 3 earned runs over 6 innings. Toledo reliever Matt Gault was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Jimmy Becker. Jason Hoose closed it out for his 48th save.
Xavier Gomez, who was drafted in the three round of the 2021 draft, helped out the Toledo cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Gomez. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
The Cheesepressers own a robust 91-49 mark.
