Pharaohs Come Up Short at Honolulu
|
The Des Moines Pharaohs got a sterling performance from center fielder Jim Eichelberger, but the Waterspouts still prevailed, 5-4. Eichelberger was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. After today's action, Honolulu sits at 80-60, while Des Moines falls to 81-59.
Early in the game, designated hitter Chris Kriske had a 2-run single for Honolulu. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Waterspouts on top, 2-1.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Des Moines manager John Hann.
