Hot Start Continues for Cheesepressers
|
Toledo Cheesepressers starter Mike Chavis pitched a strong game against the Little Rock Mighty Cocks at Durex Field, leading the Cheesepressers to a 6-2 win. In 6 innings, Chavis surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Cheesepressers, now 12-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Steve Gambino, who is tied for 8th in the UL in stolen bases with 4, aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-5.
"I like our moxie," said Cheesepressers manager Matt Perrone.
