Kingfishers Get Road Win, 3-2
|
Corpus Christi Kingfishers starter Arturo Lopez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo, 3-2. Lopez, now 3-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Getting the save was Ken Waldrop, his 3rd.
Corpus Christi took a 3-2 lead on Art Poole's 2nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Poole hit in the top of the seventh, left Kalamazoo pitcher Seth Drolette visibly frustrated.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Lopez.
The Kingfishers, with just their 4th win so far in 2026, have yet to catch fire.
