Hullabaloo Curb Platoon, 4-2

Kalamazoo got a strong outing from Miguel Olea as the Hullabaloo defeated the Saskatoon Platoon, 4-2, at Labatt Blue Field. The winning pitcher was Olea, now 10-5. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Elias Sanchez was called on to finish, recording his 19th save.
The Hullabaloo beat the Platoon in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Alvaro Verdusco produced in the top of the second. Batting against Saskatoon pitcher Mario Puente, Verdusco gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"I really like what we did out there today," Olea said after the game.
The second-place Hullabaloo lifted their record to 79-63.
