Graybirds Fall to .500 After Loss to Waterspouts
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts picked up a win at Coconuts Park, knocking off the Reno Graybirds, 4-1. Starting pitcher Ryan LaVoie, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. LaVoie picked up the win for Honolulu, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 13-12. Lorenzo Sierra notched his 36th save in 40 chances.
Steve Casselman put Honolulu in front, 2-1, when he hit a 2-run home run off Josh Halverson in the bottom of the third. It was his 29th home run of the season.
"Feels good to get the job done," Casselman said after the game.
The third-place Graybirds have dropped 5 straight games.
