Boise and Honolulu duked it out at Best Western Dome and the Idahosies came out victorious.
Boise left-hander Art Wilcox made an effective start against the Honolulu Waterspouts at Best Western Dome, leading his team to a 4-2 win. The winning pitcher was Wilcox, now 12-13. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4.
Alex Ruiz, who is on pace for 101 RBI this season, helped out the Boise cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
In postgame comments to the Boise Times, Ruiz said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
With the win, Boise goes to 61-93, while the Waterspouts fall to 83-72.
