Graybirds Hang 7-0 Loss on Waterspouts
|
Pitcher Josh Halverson was sensational for the Reno Graybirds in his team's 7-0 triumph over the Honolulu Waterspouts. Halverson received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Halverson, the winner, moves to 14-12. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. The Graybirds have now won 4 straight.
The Graybirds got a big at-bat from second baseman Chris Friedman. For the game, Friedman went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Reno a 2-0 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Friedman. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
