The Saskatoon Platoon got a superb performance from pitcher Adrian Krantz, but the New Haven Tempest still won the game, 3-1. Krantz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Steve Rhodes earned the win to go to 3-0. He allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Cameron Pelletier was credited with the save for New Haven, his 6th of the season.
Had Aaron Dry not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Dry hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Tempest.
"I really like what we did out there today," Dry said after the game.
The Tempest, now 16-3, have hit the ground running this season.
