Winter Delivers Walk-Off Win for Platoon
|
New Haven pitcher Adam Anderson gave the Platoon all they could handle, but in the end, Saskatoon left Labatt Blue Field with a 4-3 win. Anderson allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 8 innings. The Tempest, now 5-16, continue their poor start.
The Platoon got a big at-bat from center fielder Simon Winter. For the game, Winter went 1-2. In the bottom of the 12th, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 18th hit of the season gave Saskatoon a 4-3 lead.
Winter described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
