A 3-RBI performance from Erik Carnes, who is tied for 8th in the UL with a .553 slugging percentage, helped the Honolulu Waterspouts beat the Saskatoon Platoon, 8-3. Zhen-ying Chen earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The Waterspouts, now 16-6, have hit the ground running this season.

Colin Allen, who is a two-time All-Star, helped out the Honolulu cause in the bottom of the third inning with a 3-run home run. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"I like our mindset right now," said Honolulu manager Claribette Del Rosario.
