Victory Pushes Warlocks Record to 14-10
The Wichita Warlocks stopped the Toledo Cheesepressers, 8-5, at Propel Fitness Water Field. The Warlocks got a big game from Jeff Martinez, who went 1-1 with 3 walks. He scored 2 times. Wichita reliever Tim Oley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike Chavis absorbed the loss. The win brings the Warlocks to 14-10, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

The Warlocks beat the Cheesepressers in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Dashawn Sims produced in the bottom of the third. Batting against Toledo pitcher Mike Chavis, Sims gave his team a 6-5 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"We'll try to build on that win," Martinez told the Wichita Observer.
