The New Haven Tempest did just enough to secure a 7-6 victory over the Bangor Devil Bears at Red Lobster Arena. Nobody did more than pitcher Dave Berke, who captured player of the game honors. The save went to Mike Kemp, his 1st this season. New Haven is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 7th win in 24 games.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With one out, Chris Phillips hit a first pitch fastball from Justin Collins for a run-scoring single. It put New Haven in front, 5-4.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Berke.
