Idahosies Take Close Win Over Waterspouts
|
The Boise Idahosies got a stellar effort from pitcher Arturo Gonzalez, helping Boise score a 3-2 win over the visiting Honolulu Waterspouts. Boise reliever Josh Clark picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Aaron Stout absorbed the loss. Earning his 6th save for Boise was Jeff Phillips.
Had Andy Platt not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Platt hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Idahosies.
"If we keep winning the close games," Platt said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
Losses have been few and far between for the Waterspouts so far this season. Their record drops to 19-8.
