Cheesepressers Beat Knights, 7-1
|
The Toledo Cheesepressers picked up a win at Velveeta Field, knocking off the Havana Knights, 7-1. Starting pitcher Marshall Pazar played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Pazar, now 16-7. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Getting the save was Chris Honeycutt, his 3rd.
Toledo designated hitter Bob Hauser helped the Cheesepressers go up, 1-0, in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Hauser hit a solo home run off Havana pitcher Tim James.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Pazar.
The Cheesepressers go to 92-51, putting them first in the United League East Division.
