Waterspouts Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Saskatoon right fielder Tim Penton had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Honolulu at Coconuts Park. Penton went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Honolulu reliever Ismael Jimenez picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-4. Ryan Elliott was collared with the loss. At 85-58, the Waterspouts find themselves in second place in the United League West Division.
Gene Kifer was the walk-off hero for Honolulu. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Waterspouts catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Kifer called the triumph "a good team win."
