Getting a good performance from first baseman Mike Mannino, the Tucson Fighting Beetles defeated the New Haven Tempest, 5-0. Mannino was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Fighting Beetles. Jose Villalobos, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Tempest to no earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. The Tempest fall to 12-19 and continue their uneven start to the 2026 season.

Mannino had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Fighting Beetles went on to win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Mannino told reporters after the game.
