Mighty Cocks Win at New Haven, 7-2
|
The Little Rock Mighty Cocks bested the New Haven Tempest, 7-2, at Hartford Courant Center. Preston Fennell was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Tom Fisher got the win, improving to 2-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Chris Teague was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Fennell had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Mighty Cocks went on to win.
"I really like what we did out there today," Fennell said after the game.
The Tempest fall to 15-17 and continue their wobbly start to the 2016 season.
