Getting an impressive start from Jose Villalobos, Tucson beat Kalamazoo by the score of 3-2. Getting the save was Santos Cuellar, his 2nd. The Fighting Beetles, now 3-1, have been playing some good baseball.

Steve Plunkett had a big run-scoring triple for the Fighting Beetles in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Tucson trailing 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Leo Rojas and stroked the triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fighting Beetles ahead, 2-1.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Kalamazoo manager Jason Eberle said following the tough loss.
