Waterspouts Solve Bulldogs, 5-2
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts bested the Topeka Bulldogs by a score of 5-2, with second baseman Steve Casselman getting the main credit. On the day, Casselman went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Waterspouts. Honolulu starter Ryan Grosso was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 6-4. Nick Campbell earned the save for Honolulu, his 1st of the year.
Casselman contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Honolulu in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Casselman took a slider from Randy Fisher and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Waterspouts to leap in front, 4-2.
"I felt good up there," said Casselman. "I saw the ball well."
Honolulu is in second place in the United League West Division with a record of 32-21.
