Tempest Stumble, Lose to Platoon
|
The Saskatoon Platoon dealt the New Haven Tempest a 8-4 loss at Hartford Courant Center. Tim Penton was the star on offense. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Platoon bumped their record to 21-12 with this latest triumph.
The Platoon got a big at-bat from designated hitter Garrett Cranford. For the game, Cranford went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Saskatoon a 5-4 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Penton said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
