Idahosies Get Road Win, 5-2
|
The Boise Idahosies got a strong performance from pitcher Jim Myers, who stymied the Toledo offense en route to a 5-2 win at Velveeta Field. Myers picked up the win for Boise, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Jeff Phillips closed the door for Boise, picking up his 10th save of the year.
Colin Murray delivered a big hit for the Idahosies. The veteran first baseman belted a solo home run in the top of the fifth. The longball put Boise on top, 2-0. Overall, Murray went 1-4 with a home run.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Myers.
Boise is in second place in the United League West Division with a record of 20-14.
