The New Haven Tempest picked up a win at Hartford Courant Center, knocking off the Boise Idahosies, 6-2. Starting pitcher Corey Pressley played a key role in the triumph. New Haven reliever Shane Slevin picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Marcos Kozak absorbed the loss. New Haven is now 29-8, 6½ games up in the United League Atlantic Division.
New Haven took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, first baseman Zhong-qi Huang hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said New Haven manager Brandon Eberle.
