Tempest Lose to Turkeys, 7-6
|
The Albuquerque Turkeys beat the New Haven Tempest, 7-6, at Radio Shack Field. The Turkeys got a fine performance from center fielder Chris Burdo, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-4 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Albuquerque reliever Matthew Crenshaw was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Mike Brannick took the loss. Jack Neubacher closed the door for Albuquerque, picking up his 8th save of the year.
Brian Nowacki, who is tied for 10th in the PL in runs scored with 25, aided the Albuquerque cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with a walk.
"We got the victory," said Burdo. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
The Turkeys now have a mark of 20-21.
