Waterspouts, Allen Blast Mighty Cocks
|
The Honolulu Waterspouts powered past the Little Rock Mighty Cocks, 11-1, at Coconuts Park. Colin Allen was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Isaiah White got the win, improving to 5-0. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Honolulu is now 28-13, while Little Rock is 20-20.
The Waterspouts beat the Mighty Cocks in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Jared McLaughlin produced in the bottom of the first. Batting against Little Rock pitcher Dave Phillips, McLaughlin gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Allen.
