Honolulu Waterspouts starter Joel Taute turned in a top-notch performance against the Reno Graybirds at Coconuts Park. The result was a win for the Waterspouts, 3-2. Taute, now 4-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. With the win over Reno, the Waterspouts improved to 29-14.

The Waterspouts beat the Graybirds in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Dennis Anderson produced in the bottom of the fifth. Batting against Reno pitcher Eric Quam, Anderson gave his team a 3-2 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"It feels good to get this one," Taute told the Honolulu Today.
