Wichita got a terrific performance from first baseman Dashawn Sims, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo. Kalamazoo won the The Zoo contest, 6-4. Sims was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Kalamazoo reliever Bob Limehouse picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Victor Torres took the loss. Today's win puts Kalamazoo at 18-27, while Wichita falls to 29-16.

Had Chris Hursh not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hursh hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Hullabaloo.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Hursh said after the game.
