Tucson pitcher Dusty Jones gave the Hullabaloo all they could handle, but in the end, Kalamazoo left Kmart Park with a 3-1 win. Jones allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits over 9 innings. The winner was Lemsik Bejanian in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dusty Jones took the loss. The Hullabaloo raised their record to 5-1.
Had Al Hernandez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Hernandez hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Hullabaloo.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Hernandez.
