The rain came, as predicted, but the Kalamazoo Hullabaloo and Bangor Devil Bears were able to complete their ballgame.

The Kalamazoo Hullabaloo defeated the Bangor Devil Bears, 10-3, in United League action at The Zoo, with Kalamazoo pitcher Rich Backowski named player of the game. Backowski, now 6-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs.

Early in the game, designated hitter Jared Cartwright had a 3-run home run for Kalamazoo. It was his 21st home run of the season and put the Hullabaloo on top, 3-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Cartwright.

The Hullabaloo have an impressive 36-23 record.
